Mongolia overland expedition 2010
Drive For Peace has teamed up with Actionwork and Mpower You magazine to bring the ultimate creative theatre in education experience. Mongolia 2010 is part of a huge cross-cultural creative learning experience tackling bullying and raising rights awareness across Europe and Asia.
This is a modern day adventure of a lifetime. From concrete jungles to sandy deserts, staying in the coldest city on earth and travelling through some the worlds harshest environments, children of Britain will be sharing the actions of peace across the globe.
English children, with a small experienced back-up crew, will travel overland through England, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Poland, Estonia, Lithunia, Latvia, Russia, Siberia amd Mongolia on a non-stop tour through some of the remotest, beautiful and poorest reaches of the earth. Driving for peace builds on recent international cross-cultural initiatives run by the group where they will share anti-violence and empowerment strategies through shows, presentations and creative workshops in over 12 countries with 100’s of the worlds children. Performance venues include schools, children’s missions run by international charities, street children’s centres, youth clubs and children’s homes.
This expedition is from the perspective of young people, who in addition to delivering creative sessions to other young people will film, interview and document the trip from their perspective. The young troupe will find out what life is like from the view points of the young people in each country, as well as tasting the local cuisine and discovering what amenities and programmes are available for children and young people in all the countries visited. They will also give their thoughts on a whole range of subjects including the delights and pains of the adventure, all of which will be made in to a film.
Travelling over 30,000 miles overland. Share their epic journey, through the eyes of the young people. Live internet blog and journey updates. Free links to schools. Contact us for details on how to access these.
This is a non-profit tour, everyone will be acting as a volunteer. All the money raised will go in to delivering creative sessions in the countries visited. We need sponsors. Please help us raise money by donating funds, small or large, to this epic journey. You will be helping the children of Britain showcasing the best of Britain to the world. Help us show the world some of the positive sides of the people of Britain.
