Actionwork is the official anti-bullying resource for Glastonbury Festival
Bullying affects thousands of people in the UK every week. Some so badly that they kill themselves. Glastonbury festival organisers are working with Actionwork to help find solutions to bullying.
This year the Glastonbury Festival will be providing a specialist dedicated anti-bullying team on site at the festival. Internationally acclaimed theatre and film group “Actionwork” will be providing interactive anti-bullying creative workshop sessions, anti-bullying shows, one-to-one counselling sessions, and anti-bullying resources and information. In addition the Actionwork team will be providing some multi-cultural storytelling for peace and, using the creative arts, will help people raise their self esteem and personal confidence, in addition to finding ways to end violence in our schools and in our society. Workshops will be energised and a whole heap of fun.
Sessions and resources will be for adults and children. Please join us in the Green Futures field for one of our workshops, some information, to collect some anti-bullying freebies, to sign our anti-bullying petition or just to have a chat.
The Actionwork team have performed shows all over the world and produce Britain’s national anti-bullying conference for young people every year. Our saying is: “Empower yourself – ipoweri”.
At Glastonbury Festival 2008 as part of their anti-bullying resource centre in the Green Futures Field, Actionwork will
- host and manage a 20 foot marquee stage
- provide workshops and anti-bullying resources within a huge specially made Actionwork anti-bullying yurt
- perform live anti-bullying shows
- run creative anti-bullying workshops
- provide anti-bullying resources including books, leaflets and posters
- supply anti-bullying films, videos and dvd’s
- maintain an anti-bullying counselling service
- perform at various other venues and around the festival site
