To: Prime Minister Tony Blair, 10 Downing Street, London, SW1A 2AA

Dear Prime Minister Blair

Re: ‘I Power I’ National Anti-Bullying Conference for Young People

Yesterday as was reported on the BBC1 lunchtime news, we held a national anti-bullying conference in London. The conference was attended by over 300 young people from across the country, and was a huge success. Along with many invited speakers and celebrities, your minister Beverley Hughes attended and told delegates that the Youth Matters Green Paper published yesterday expressed the importance of empowering young people, and seeking to consult them on matters which concern their lives.

The conference voted unanimously on the following request:

“We want the government to provide intensive anti-bullying training for all new teachers as part of their teacher training, and to existing teachers through intensive short programmes”

We therefore ask you to implement this as soon as possible.

Please find enclosed a copy of the conference press report, a list of contributors and a list of schools attending.

We look forward to hearing back from you.

Yours sincerely

Andy Hickson - Conference Director
