Creative Anti-Bullying Workshops

Actionwork are touring creative anti-bullying interactive workshops throughout the country. These are generally available throughout the year.

Actionwork is one of the leading providers of anti-bullying training in the UK. As part of our anti-bullying activities we have developed a series of creative anti-bullying workshops for schools and other insitutions to choose from.

We are currently taking bookings for anti-bullying workshops during 2014 and 2015 including:

Introductory creative anti-bullying workshops

These sessions last up to 90 minutes in length. The concept of bullying is explored on many levels from power to empowerment. What the word bullying means, strategies for dealling with bullying, building confidence and assertiveness skills. These sessions are fun, energised and powerful. We utilise a fusion of styles including role-play, games, improvisation and discussion.

Small group size is up to 30 students. Large groups are between 30 and 150 students. Sessions are run in your school hall or studio. Maximum of three sessions per day

Anti Bullying Week and other themed workshops

These sessions last up to 60-90 minutes in length. These sessions are fun, energised and powerful. We utilise a fusion of styles including role-play, games, improvisation and discussion.

Small group size is up to 30 students. Large groups are between 30 and 150 students. Sessions are run in your school hall or studio. Maximum of three sessions per day.

Sessions include:
  • - The Future is Ours. Safe, Fun and Connected. Dealing with cyberbullying and youth voice.
  • - We're better without bullying. With a focus on bullying and achievement.
  • - Stop, think, words can hurt. Focus on verbal bullying, banter and hurtful language.
  • - Taking action together. We all have a responsibility to deal with bullying.
  • - Being different, belonging together. Helping people recognise and value dfference, diversity and togetherness.

 

Creative cyberbullying workshops

These sessions last up to 90 minutes in length. The concept of cyberbullying is explored on many levels. What does cyberbullying mean to us? What strategies are available for us to deal with cyberbullying? What is the difference between traditional face-to-face bullying and cyberbullying? These sessions are fun, energised and powerful. We utilise a fusion of styles including role-play, games, improvisation and discussion.

Small group size is up to 30 students. Large groups are between 30 and 150 students. Sessions are run in your school hall or studio. Maximum three sessions per day.

Working with bullying and special needs.

These introductory sessions last up to 90 minutes in length. What the word bullying means, strategies for dealling with bullying, additional skills for working with varying abilities of children and young adults. These sessions are fun, energised and powerful. We utilise a fusion of styles including role-play, games, improvisation and discussion.

Small group size is up to 30 students. Large groups are between 30 and 150 students. Sessions are run in your school hall or studio. Maximum of three sessions per day

Peer mediation training

These workshop sessions last two-days (four-hours per day). What is peer mediation? How can I become a better peer mediator? We look at active listening, empathy, spotting bullying behaviour, victim mentality and strategies for dealing with bullying. These sessions are fun, energised and powerful. We utilise a fusion of styles including role-play, games, improvisation and discussion.

Up to 30 peer mediators at a time. Sessions are run in your school hall or studio.

Peer support workshops

These sessions last one-day and are seen to support existing peer supporters in your school. We have two options: We can send our own young peer supporters to work with your group or our adult specialist peer support trainers (costs are the same). These sessions are fun, energised and powerful. We utilise a fusion of styles including role-play, games, improvisation and discussion.

Group size is up to 30 students. Sessions are run in your school hall or studio.

Updating a school's anti-bullying policy

These sessions run for four hours in one day (two x two hour time slots); two-hours in the morning and two-hours in the afternoon. We work with a specified group of students and/or teachers to explore how your anti-bullying policy can be updated. These sessions are fun, energised and powerful. We utilise a fusion of styles including role-play, games, improvisation and discussion.

Small group size is up to 20 students/teachers. Sessions are run in your school hall or studio.

Anti-Bullying Teacher Training

These sessions are for teachers. They last for three-hours and are run in one-day. The concept of bullying is explored on many levels, as is how to spot bullying. What the word bullying means, strategies for dealing with bullying, listening to students, reporting bullying, keeping a log, bullying and the law and how to prevent being bullied are all subjects explored in these sessions. These sessions are fun, energised and powerful. We utilise a fusion of styles including role-play, games, improvisation and discussion.

Groups from 10 - 80 teachers at a time. Sessions are run in your school hall or studio.
